Documenting December with The Stamp Spot kit

This is my third year of participating in December Daily®. December Daily® is a mini scrapbook project created by Ali Edward’s to capture December. You can learn more at her website. I have a few Christmas albums I’m aiming to complete this year; A 6×8 December Daily®, which will be the third I’ve completed. An 8×8 photobook of Christmas from 2004-2012 which encompasses the years I wasn’t scrapping and have no physical photos printed for. I’m completing it  ...

December pocket calendars 2015

Hello! I’m running a bit behind schedule with my December pocket scrapbooking freebies this year, so expect to see some more over the coming week or two. This is the third year I’ve offered these December pocket calendars. I hope someone finds a use for them! There’s 8 different colour schemes included along with a Photoshop/Elements brush file, and a PNG overlay so you can create your own if mine aren’t to your taste. You can also use the PNG file as an overlay in  ...

Free Halloween Pocket Cards

Do you celebrate Halloween? Eleven years ago I was in America in the lead up to Halloween and I remember being in awe of all the decorated houses in New England, seeing pumpkins for sale on the sidewalks of New York. The stores had Halloween cards, Halloween themed Snickers bars… it went on and on and was amazing. While we do celebrate a bit more in Australia these days we have nothing on this! I have found myself in need of some Halloween pocket cards the last few years mainly due to  ...

Jot Mood board challenge

I’ve been stuck in a scrappy rut of late. Whenever I pull my Project Life album out to work on I find myself staring at the blank or unfinished pages, then just walking away. I needed to do something similar but different enough to challenge me. Enter the Jot Magazine Mood Board Challenge. I love Jot magazine, it’s free, it’s full of pretty layouts, and they compile monthly mood boards which are great for inspiration. I always look at the boards and think ‘one month  ...

Catching up on Project Life – Update

It’s been over a month since I posted my plan to catch up on Project Life, so it’s time for an update. Did I succeed in completing all my layouts in two weeks? Truthfully, no. Life happens and I was delayed. However I did complete 80% of it and am feeling much better about where my album is up to. I’m still not up to date, but I’m working on it. I’m finding lately that when it comes to scrapbooking I’m struggling with too much inspiration. Don’t get  ...

Catching up on Project Life

I’m rather behind with Project Life and being laid up with morning sickness for two months hasn’t helped me catch up. We already know this so I won’t ramble on about it, instead I’ll tell you my plan to do something about it. Enter the Collect App A lot of people praise Collect and for good reason. This nifty iPhone app keeps track of your daily photos and creates print ready cards on export. The cards are either 3×4 or 6×4 and feature your photo, the date,  ...

Font Love – One

I’m a bit of a fontaholic. In fact it’s safe to say I have no idea which fonts I have. Quite regularly I’ll see a nice font, only to realise I installed it a year ago. In my defense this usually happens when I go searching for the perfect font for a scrapbooking card I’m designing, and I’m not great at managing the rejects because I might need them one day! Recently I was cleaning some non-font clutter from my computer and I found a template I’d come up  ...

On reassessing Project Life

Hello! Do you have a hobby that feels like a chore? That’s how I feel about Project Life at present. I’m so far behind that the mere thought of trying to catch up sends me running towards another task. I was having trouble sleeping a couple of nights ago, and while mulling over some things, I realised what has gone ‘wrong’ with Project life for me. Below are some of my earliest layouts. These particular ones are hybrid as I tended to mainly do hybrid in the  ...

Mothers Day Journal Cards

It’s Mothers Day in Australia next weekend, so I’ve create a few cards to use in your layouts. There is an additional card not pictured, which is a 6×4 version of the ‘Memories of my Mother’ card. << Download the ZIP containing 5 PNG files>> On the fonts: Something I’ve touched on in a previous post, is that when creating digital freebies you can’t just assume it’s ok to use fonts and clip art. Even fonts and clip art you  ...
