And to think they scoffed when we put the veggies in!

The veggie patch is two weeks old now and aside from losing one zucchini it is doing well, really well! Col has been very diligent with putting the daily shower water on them thus keeping them well hydrated although I am a little concerned that they might not be enjoying my tea-tree shampoo quite as much as I am. We put some new things in today; basil, leeks and more marigolds.

Veggie Patch!

This weekend was spent installing and planting seedlings in our veggie patch! Never mind that it isn’t quite planting time yet, we’ll see how it goes! We put the garden in our front yard as it is about 4 times the size of our backyard and our house is north facing so lots of light for the veggies! Veggie Patch Inspiration

Our newest project still in the development stage is our veggie patch. I’ve been surfing around the ‘net to find some inspiration and stumbled on the plan below. Our veggie patch is going be in our front yard so we want it to be not only functional but easy on the eye. I love the way this plan incorporates vegetables with flowers and trellis. A favourite thing

From the months of June-September my mother’s Pink Ice Protea flowers prolifically which results in a vase full of them every few weeks for my home. They’re such a gorgeous flower, tough but fluffy and they last for weeks. I must plant one myself.
