January Memory Keeping

Plans. Ha! I should know by now not to create elaborate, or even small plans for my memory keeping as they never eventuate the way I envisiage. Firstly, the biggest change to all my plans was the arrival of Finley in early January! He’s a lovely baby and we have all been enjoying having him in our life. I had forgotten how little crafting time one really enjoys with a young baby though, and have revised some of my memory keeping plans this year to make things easier on me. I  ...

Project Life 2015 and plans for 2016

Today’s big excitment for me wasn’t having a baby, but I did manage to pull out all stops and complete my 2015 Project Life Album! I didn’t think I would finish it this year as I’ve become  disinterested with the 12×12 format, and as my photos piled up and up I felt overwhelmed. However in the past week or so I’ve managed to sort, edit, and print the photos, and today I sat down with my kits and filled in all the gaps with fillers and journaling from  ...

Free Halloween Pocket Cards

Do you celebrate Halloween? Eleven years ago I was in America in the lead up to Halloween and I remember being in awe of all the decorated houses in New England, seeing pumpkins for sale on the sidewalks of New York. The stores had Halloween cards, Halloween themed Snickers bars… it went on and on and was amazing. While we do celebrate a bit more in Australia these days we have nothing on this! I have found myself in need of some Halloween pocket cards the last few years mainly due to  ...

Catching up on Project Life

I’m rather behind with Project Life and being laid up with morning sickness for two months hasn’t helped me catch up. We already know this so I won’t ramble on about it, instead I’ll tell you my plan to do something about it. Enter the Collect App A lot of people praise Collect and for good reason. This nifty iPhone app keeps track of your daily photos and creates print ready cards on export. The cards are either 3×4 or 6×4 and feature your photo, the date,  ...

Project Life Week Two

Yes, week two! I’ve fallen a little bit behind because my attention has been focused on decluttering the house and repainting our bedroom. The painting is done, but the tidying and sorting is still a huge work in progress. I did make some time to start catching up on Project Life, because if I get too far behind I can see myself not bothering to catch up, and I’ll regret that later! For week two I fell back to a style I’m most comfortable with, which is labels, underlined  ...

Project Life- the cover

This is my second Project Life album cover. I did something similar last year and decided to keep the basic concept the same which is that everyday is an adventure. We don’t have grand plans to travel this year, but we do have a new greenhouse and plenty of renovating to do around the house, so I tried to capture ‘adventure at home’ as a theme. I created the cover as a 12×12 in Photoshop, ran a script to divide it into four 6×4’s, then printed at home. The  ...

Free Easter Cards

Today I have some free Easter themed filler and journal cards for your personal use in four colour schemes. I included an Autumn colour scheme as it’s Autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere as well as the more ‘traditional’ pastel schemes. Because Hot Cross Buns are a big deal for me around Easter I included a blank square to put a photo of your hot cross buns in, either physically or digitally. If you do it digitally you’ll need to either crop a photo square then drag it on, or create a  ...

Project Life–Week 11

It seems no sooner do I catch up, that I fall behind again. This week I really tried to scale back on the amount of photos I used, and add some more white space. I have purchased a few partial kits of late. This week I used Kiwi but tried to stick to a couple of colours rather than get carried away with the entire palette. It has some great review cards which had some prompts to record things I wouldn’t usually think to. My concert ticket is just stapled on and folds back to reveal a photo  ...

Project Life–Week 9

The first of March is always a happy day for me because we say ‘Farewell Summer’. I decided to celebrate that occasion by making my own title card to welcome Autumn. I know Summer lovers don’t like Autumn because it marks the beginning of shorter days, cooler weather, and ultimately Winter, but the days we get in the lead up to Winter are so glorious and wonderful. The clear skies, the gentle cool breeze, green reappearing in the garden, the colours, the smoky drives in the nearby  ...
