Jot Magazine- March Mood Board.

Just scraping in with my March Mood Board Challenge this month. I did complete February, but didn’t blog about it. In fact looking at my blog I haven’t blogged about anything since the January challenge. I must rectify this as I have lots to share.  Back to March. The Mood Board this month was so pretty. I was drawn to the purple as I knew I had some purple papers in my stash, as well as the vintage fabric. I wanted a bit of a mish mash layout, like a scrappy vintage quilt.  ...

Jot Magazine – January Mood Board Challenge

As mentioned in my previous post, I really want to try to complete all of the Jot Mood Board Challenges this year, if for nothing but to try some new techniques and use up my stash. January’s board is quite fresh and relaxed with a feeling of home, and a hint of nautical. I was drawn to the cobalt blue, the whites, and the mixed patterns. I thought about what I would do with it, but nothing came to mind right away. Then yesterday we spent the day at the seaside suburb of Williamstown.  ...

Project Life 2015 and plans for 2016

Today’s big excitment for me wasn’t having a baby, but I did manage to pull out all stops and complete my 2015 Project Life Album! I didn’t think I would finish it this year as I’ve become  disinterested with the 12×12 format, and as my photos piled up and up I felt overwhelmed. However in the past week or so I’ve managed to sort, edit, and print the photos, and today I sat down with my kits and filled in all the gaps with fillers and journaling from  ...

December pocket calendars 2015

Hello! I’m running a bit behind schedule with my December pocket scrapbooking freebies this year, so expect to see some more over the coming week or two. This is the third year I’ve offered these December pocket calendars. I hope someone finds a use for them! There’s 8 different colour schemes included along with a Photoshop/Elements brush file, and a PNG overlay so you can create your own if mine aren’t to your taste. You can also use the PNG file as an overlay in  ...

Free Halloween Pocket Cards

Do you celebrate Halloween? Eleven years ago I was in America in the lead up to Halloween and I remember being in awe of all the decorated houses in New England, seeing pumpkins for sale on the sidewalks of New York. The stores had Halloween cards, Halloween themed Snickers bars… it went on and on and was amazing. While we do celebrate a bit more in Australia these days we have nothing on this! I have found myself in need of some Halloween pocket cards the last few years mainly due to  ...

Project Life- the cover

This is my second Project Life album cover. I did something similar last year and decided to keep the basic concept the same which is that everyday is an adventure. We don’t have grand plans to travel this year, but we do have a new greenhouse and plenty of renovating to do around the house, so I tried to capture ‘adventure at home’ as a theme. I created the cover as a 12×12 in Photoshop, ran a script to divide it into four 6×4’s, then printed at home. The  ...

Free Easter Cards

Today I have some free Easter themed filler and journal cards for your personal use in four colour schemes. I included an Autumn colour scheme as it’s Autumn here in the Southern Hemisphere as well as the more ‘traditional’ pastel schemes. Because Hot Cross Buns are a big deal for me around Easter I included a blank square to put a photo of your hot cross buns in, either physically or digitally. If you do it digitally you’ll need to either crop a photo square then drag it on, or create a  ...

Project Life–Week 11

It seems no sooner do I catch up, that I fall behind again. This week I really tried to scale back on the amount of photos I used, and add some more white space. I have purchased a few partial kits of late. This week I used Kiwi but tried to stick to a couple of colours rather than get carried away with the entire palette. It has some great review cards which had some prompts to record things I wouldn’t usually think to. My concert ticket is just stapled on and folds back to reveal a photo  ...

Project Life–Week 10

I had a lot of photos to squeeze in this week. Next week I’m going to try to do something different with 3×4’s as I find if I have too many of them my layout looks more like a disorganised photo album than what is essentially a photo journal. I might try simply adding some white space around them. I put a lot of journaling on the insert to try add some white space. Still using my own handwriting and plan to continue. The splattery cards are mine. You can download my digital ones on  ...
