Life and Outings

A bit of this and that

Craft:

The craft front has been  a bit on the non-existent side since I returned to work.  I keep reminding myself of my list though and that I’m not supposed to beat myself up over it this year. Although my list doesn’t explicitly say that. My bad!

Pregnancy:

There are some other things going on right now too. I’ve been having strange severe pains lately, mainly at night, which leave me feeling exhausted and yuck. Turns out I have gallstones. Being pregnant there’s not a lot they can or want to do about it so I just need to avoid the trigger foods and put up with the attacks if they happen. No more devonshire tea for me! I’d love to hear from you if you’ve experienced gallstones. Fortunately they don’t cause problems with my baby so that’s good news!

I’m 20 weeks now, the baby is definitely growing as my tummy is starting to poke out more. It spends a lot of time kicking me and I look forward to seeing how much stronger these kicks get given my husband can already feel them when he puts his hand on my tummy.

I wasn’t planning to talk much about my pregnancy on this blog, but given it’s a big part of my life right now I think the odd post will sneak in here and there.

Floods:

Like everyone else I’ve been astonished and saddened by the severity of the floods. I feel for each and every person affected by them. There’s so many crafters doing such wonderful things to raise money right now and plenty of opportunities for the rest of us to donate money, participate in auctions, purchase Etsy items and make softies.

Normal programming will resume tomorrow with an update on our tomatoes!

    Hi!

I’ve had gallstones. Horrible. The only thing that helped me were very strong pain relief tablets (which I’m guessing you can’t have right now) and numbing the pain with heat. A really hot shower on my back until I couldn’t feel it any more, and then into bed with a hot water bottle. Rinse and repeat as required. Fatty foods make it HEAPS worse. If I had KFC I would get an attack within hours.

I had my gall bladder taken out and have had no trouble since. I’ve never had kids, but I know people that have had children AND gallstones (albeit not at the same time) and they assure me that gallstones hurt more than childbirth.

Hope you can get a handle on the pain!

Gallstones, so not cool! It must be horrible, you know, combine with the other pregnancy little problems like heartburn!

However, baby kicking at 20 weeks is super fun…a little less in the middle of the night but it is a detail ;)

    Take care xox
