January Memory Keeping
Plans. Ha! I should know by now not to create elaborate, or even small plans for my memory keeping as they never eventuate the way I envisiage.
Firstly, the biggest change to all my plans was the arrival of Finley in early January! He’s a lovely baby and we have all been enjoying having him in our life. I had forgotten how little crafting time one really enjoys with a young baby though, and have revised some of my memory keeping plans this year to make things easier on me. I won’t bore you with the why’s but I now have;
- 12×12 Family Project Life style album which I’m completing monthly.
- 6×8 Memory album which is about me now, and my memories of various things. I’m also including Ali Edwards Story Kits in this album.
- 6×8 First year album for Finley
- 6×8 One Little Word
Which brings us to January!
This month was really about settling in. We didn’t really get out much, or have a lot of visitors. I was struggling with the layout as I’d printed the photos for the 6×8 album, so the flow wasn’t as great as I’d have liked once moved to the 12×12. However, I then read a post at A place in my Dreams about creating a ‘kit’ from your own stash, so I gave that a go and it made it come together so much easier. I’m going to make a kit from my stash every month now!
I built this kit around the Amy Tangerine Finders Keepers papers, then printed out a lot of fairly basic journal cards from the Project Life App (from Everyday, Project 52 2016, and Moments Like These core kits)Then I just grabbed some heart and star wooden embellishments, and a few bits and pieces that tied in.
Stay tuned for some freebies in a few days time!
