The Stitches and Craft Show

Yesterday my sister and I braved the elements and went to the Stitches and Craft Show. It was a great day and I loved seeing fabrics and products that I look at on the web in real life.

Here’s what I bought:

From left to right, top to bottom we have:

Cute tea-cup stitcheries from Ella & Skysie Designs

An adorable owl cushion pattern from Hot Possum

The sweetest little bear kit by Bears by Annie

Three fat quarters from Ink & Spindle (coincidentally my three choices included all three girls designs!)

Five 30cm pieces of fabric from Amitie from various designers.

A simply wonderful squirrel panel from Kristen Doran

My biggest purchase isn’t pictured here because I won’t pick it up until Thursday; I splashed out and purchased an overlocker! I’m quite excited about it.

Something I found interesting about the show was seeing fabric in real life that I’ve drooled over on the web for months, then not thought much of it at all. This was particularly true of some of the American designers. I guess one thing that’s really hard about the internet is scale and it’s easy to see things as you want to see them. On the other hand, there were quite a number of fabrics there that I hadn’t really noticed in on the net, that I’m now quite taken with. One of which I’m about to use in this week’s Sunday Stash. Stay tuned!

    Hi Renae,
I was dissapointed you didn’t say hi.
You must promise to next time.
I love all the things you bought.
We crafty chicks could have gone crazy spending.
I love my Kristen Doran cuckoo clock fabric panel.

Nice haul! Fabric fashions have changed a lot in the last couple of years (since I closed my business). The colours are fresher. I haven’t really been keeping up.
