Geranium or Pelargonium?

I love geraniums, but when I say that I’m really saying ‘I love Pelargoniums’ as I suspect all of my geraniums are in fact pelargoniums. It’s quite confusing really.

Anyway, despite what they’re called, they grow really well in my garden and I’m always looking for interesting ones to add.

This time last year this one was just a small cutting that I plucked from an old guesthouse that we stayed in up in Echuca. I’d never seen one like this before and was keen to have it in my yard. In the past month it’s really taken off and has flowered. I’d love to know what type it is. Based on the age of the house and garden where we stayed I suspect it’s an older variety.
