Mosaic Madness!
One craft I’ve been very interested in for a long time but have never done anything about is mosaicing.
When I was a little girl I used to make mosaics out of paper and once I grew into a not so little girl I continued this practice in my Scrapbooking. Several years ago I discovered that one can buy Royal Albert mosaic tiles, which then conjured the dream in my head to one day have an outdoor table covered in Old Country Roses Chintz. Other hobbies and time constraints prevented me from ever getting organised enough to start, but the longing was still there (helped along by a Tarot reader who told me a few years back that I’ll teach mosaicing in the future…hmm)
Two of my friends, Robyn and Megan both do mosaics. I think Megan started last year and Robyn a few months ago. Both were working on mosaic projects at my last craft day. On the side Robyn was working on another project, a secret project. I finally found out what it is:
My Birthday present!! Isn’t it fantastic! I can’t believe that this is the first project she’s ever done, it’s so good. (my camera phone really hasn’t done it justice!) She thought of the candle holder part all by herself.
Of course, seeing Robyn’s finished project inspired me to seriously give thought to taking up this beautiful hobby – images of Christmas coasters to match my dinner set already developing in my mind- so you can imagine how excited I was when Megan gave me tile cutters and adhesive for my birthday! No more putting this one off!
