New skirt!

So far my August Creative Blitz has fallen flat on it’s face thanks to this silly cold, but I did manage to whip up a skirt just now. No pattern and finished in under an hour! The fabric was on clearance at Spotlight earlier this year, I bought it on a whim figuring I’d do something with it!

The photos aren’t great due to dark lighting, but I won’t be home in the daylight until next weekend and I wanted to show everyone now!

It’s basically two big rectangles overlocked together and sewn onto thick elastic which is stretched as you sew. My rectangles were initially too big so instead of two side seams I now have one side seam and a back seam, but given the gathered nature of the skirt it’s barely noticeable.

Lovely work, Ren. Simple patterns work best when the fabric does the talking.
