Sewing and Craft

Urgh!

My sister made a nice dress last week with some Alannah Hill fabric. She had some spare and thought I might get a skirt out of it. There was actually enough for a dress, so I set about cutting out New Look 6773 in view D+J.

Now I normally need a bit of extra room in the bust area and add on a few inches to the pattern pieces, but today I decided to be brave and cut out a 16 bodice and 14 skirt without the extra few inches. The result? It’s huge.

I should have remembered that the last time I used this pattern I spent a lot of time taking things in and now I have a whole dress to take in. I just wish patterns would have accurate measurements on the back.
