Veggies!

This time last year we’d already put the veggie gardens in and planted lots of seedlings. This time this year we’re a little behind. Not a necessarily a bad thing though – last year a lot of our veggies went in too early, as a result we have year old leeks that still aren’t mature, brocolli that’s been happily flowering for the last 10 months without producing a proper head and capsicum that never grew more than six inches tall. This year we know better and we’re also being more ambitious.

Behold out newly marked out veggie patches! You can see last years in the background (the small green shrub on the left is actually parsley, you can make out lettuce that self seeded on the right of the left patch and to the far right of the right patch is are the leeks and brocolli) As seen above one new patch will be a triangle (which I’ve claimed for the herb garden) and the one only half in the picture will be a large rectangle.

I look forward to showing more progress photos once we’ve got the beds built and planted out!

PS- in case you’re wondering- yes, the beds are in th front yard!
