We’re sadly attending a family funeral today. I spent some time this morning enjoying the sun and reflecting in the garden.

The flower timings of some of the plants is odd this year due the real lack of summer beginning. The gladioli would normally finish around Christmas, but this year the flower spike only appeared then.

We’re having problems with things eating the garden this year, as you can see on the dahlia. Not sure what to do about it as I’m not keen to spray insecticides around.

On a slightly different note; I’ve decided to resurrect the ‘what’s happening this month’ box on my sidebar. It’s good for me to publish what I intend to work on rather than just keep it in my head and hope that it happens!
