Organisation

About a year ago I tried to become one of those super organised, no clutter in sight, type people. I even did an online course! A year later I still suffer from hoardism and I’m definitely not super organised.

Last year as part of ‘Autumn Cleaning’ I put all my summer clothes into a storage box under the bed, then in Spring swapped Summer for Winter. Now it’s cooling off again I realise it’s time to put the Summer things away again and bring out the winter. Which brings me to an interesting point- If I haven’t worn half of said summer clothes since unpacking them last November should I keep them? Would you keep them? We’re talking clothes that are a little snug that I vowed to fit into by Christmas, then didn’t, clothes that are hardly worn, clothes I just didn’t have the chance to wear. What would you do?

Well, speaking as someone who was pregnant and nursing for three years straight very recently, I have tons of clothes I’m “planning” to fit back into. It feels like giving up to me to get rid of them, like i’m admitting that i’ll never lose the weight.

That being said, from an objective standpoint I think it depends on how stylish they are. If they are gorgeous, expensive, timeless pieces that you look amazing in when you’re skinny, keep them. If they are semi-ratty, really not that flattering even when you do fit them, or out of style, out they go!
