Glorious Gladioli – part two

A few weeks back I posted about my lovely gladioli. We enjoyed the gladioli for exactly five more days after the post until it broke under it own weight on the the windy rainy Saturday of the 13th! It still had lots of unopened flowers, so I bought it inside to see how it would fare. Three weeks later, it’s finally bloomed the last flowers.

Freshly inside out of the storm

Bloomed all the way to the tip! I counted at least 20 flowers on this stalk and it was so heavy I had to weight the vase.

There’s two more in flower outside now, but sadly the fourth plant won’t flower as I accidentally broke the flower spike off while weeding yesterday. I was avoiding a nasty Redback, so I forgave myself!

Isn’t this one gorgeous?
